Martial Arts Interviews Coming Up

So,
I got the chance to interview Brian Johnson himself! However, I’m not sure how the sound turned out. So, if for some reason it doesn’t work, I will transcribe the interview for you. I was a bit concerned about the sound, because we were in an echo room.

I also got to interview Harrison “Wolverine” Bevens! I also got him doing practicing with Jason “K-1″ Swan. I’m excited to get those posted for you as soon as I can!

Fighter Ricky Shanklin Interview

I was at Brian Johnson Muay Thai Kickboxing Academy last night when I ran into Fighter Ricky Shanklin. He was nice enough to let me ask him a few questions! Please excuse the shakey camera, it was late, and I had already done crossfit, spin class, and kickboxing! I didn’t have my tripod with me, and I could barely lift my arms! But, I wanted to ask him some questions and share it with you while I had the chance. Humble and down to earth! Meet Ricky ……… aka Pretty Ricky!

Ok, so, who am I?

I’m an ACE certified personal trainer with my background in bio mechanics, dance, movement, gymnastics, and martial arts. I’ve been teaching the aerobics kickboxing at Brian Johnson’s for 4 years. I teach at Brian’s on Wednesday nights at 8 pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:30 am. I’m not the only aerobic kickboxing teacher at Brian’s! There are classes ALL WEEK LONG! Mondays and Weds, 8 pm, Tues. and Thurs. at 6 pm, and Saturday morning!

Brian’s is a true Mixed Martial Arts gym! Brian has been one of the best people I’ve ever worked for! It is really all about the work. Just getting in and getting it done. There has never been any drama working for Brian. He’s one of the nicest, most down to earth people! His wife, Dani, teaches at the gym as well. She has an awesome bootcamp in the mornings. If you haven’t given this a try, go check it out!

Brian Johnson’s gym has a boxing ring, and a lot of space to work out with heavy bags, and a small weight room. Dani Johnson has a ton of fun bootcamp style equipment to use including kettle bells, ropes, pull up bars, and a lot more. Brian offers Muay Thai, Grappling, kids karate, and many other forms of martial arts. It’s truly a great place to train!
